Surgical Oncologist, Dr. W. Charles (Chuck) Conway II has now joined the multi-specialty, team of elite surgeons at Anacapa Surgical Associates. Surgical Oncology is a cancer care field that focuses on using surgery, including specialty Robotic Oncological Surgery to diagnose, stage, remove and treat cancer. Surgical Oncologists also perform palliative procedures to help ease physical discomfort, manage side effects, and enable tube feeding/hydration/
medication delivery, to improve quality of life.
Dr. Conway’s Surgical Oncology background has been distinguished as an abdominal
cancers treatment innovator, robotic surgery specialist, surgical residency student instructor, lecturer, and program director, making him a strong compliment to Anacapa Surgical Associates. He will help to expand the group’s competency and reach to encompass peritoneal malignancies, including his particular specialty in treating Peritoneal Mesothelioma.
Dr. Conway has authored and co-authored numerous clinical research papers and has extensive knowledge of innovative multidisciplinary surgical therapies, working with a wide range of abdominal cancers involving the pancreas, gall bladder, liver, bowel, esophagus stomach and upper-gastrointestinal region.
Dr. Conway spent eight years at the Ochsner Medical Center’s Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center,locatedinNewOrleans,Louisiana. During
his tenure there as a Surgical Oncologist, Dr. Conway forged a brilliant reputation
